Regarding the Lohner-Porsche, most were front-wheel drive only - Mr Porsche believed that because the horse came before the carriage cars should be front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive was possible by the use of hub motors with no need for complicated transmissions but ultimately rare. Bit of trivia for you there about what is a wonderful and fascinating machine.
